TCU Baseball: CWS Wallpaperby ~yurintroubl

The 2010 NCAA Baseball College World Series is upon us as the Top 8 teams from across the country face off within Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska.

I created this wallpaper to celebrate 2 events that make this year's CWS special:
~~ For the first time in their history - TCU's Baseball team has earned the right to take the field in the tournament to determine the NCAA Champion.
~~ For the last time in it's 62 year history - Omaha, Nebraska's Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium will host the College World Series. Next year the CWS will be in Omaha - but in a brand new facility...

While I am excited for next year's new, modern venue - It will be devoid of the memories... the TRADITIONS that I feel associated with this event. I grew up an LSU fan... and to me, "Rosenblatt" is synonymous with "Championship" as LSU collected 6 titles between 1991 and 2009.

May another purple team carry on that winning tradition in 2010! Geaux Frogs!!!

HAA!! I LIVE THERE!! (Haven't been able to get into a restaurant the past week... So many baseball fans!)

Anyways.

Wow, this is a really nice wallpaper! And I like TCU (shame they didn't make it in football to the National Championship... Darn Longhorns...) so I hope they go off from the CWS with a bang -- or a trophy.

And on the Rosenblatt comment, I totally understand.

Living here for 17 years (AKA my whole life) I've grown up going to Omaha Royals games at the 'Blatt and watching fireworks shoot off fom there every 4th of July. I remember sneaking store-bought peanuts in and just watching players slip across that dirt. Such fond memories.

Darn those CWS officials for demanding a new stadium! But I suppose, on the plus side, now the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo can expand... They were landlocked pretty bad.

The new stadium will pay for itself quickly by allowing more people to see the CWS alone...

I'm glad that as a local you approve of my homage! It literally brought tears to my eyes that TCU has had the chance to play in Rosenblatt...

How 'bout that game last night, eh?

As I was leaving work, Frogs were down 7-3 going into the 8th... All I could think of was Warren Morris Warren Morris Warren Morris (a story I have been recounting to many TCU fans whose faith is easily shaken)... Anyways - got home, flipped on the TV and it was 11-7! Whooooooooooeeee! I'm hoping UCLA chokes on a tall glass of Purke tomorrow!

Oh, I can imagine. I, of course, am a die-hard Husker fan, but really the only sports we're good at up here are Football, Women's Basketball (Connie Yori really is a fabulous coach), and Women's Volleyball. But to each chool their own, right?

I actually didn't watch the game last night.

I meant to, but I've actually been busy packing for a mission trip I'm going on soon. (Hopefully the CWS will be on radio?)

And darn right! Down with UCLA!
(I think they're grossly overrated.)
